Store Knowledge in Reference Projects

IT can not only be a supporter but also a driver of new and innovative processes along the supply chain. Here one of the options is the definition and recommendation of best practices for the cooperation between companies (mainly shippers and logistics providers) along the delivery chain. Nobody knows these processes better than AXIT: In the approx. 2,500 different customer projects which AXIT has realized in delivery chain management it became clear that in each industry, but even across different industries, the same challenges came up. It is for the best and most efficient solutions for these frequently recurring challenges that we have compiled reference processes. The knowledge and experience of AXIT staff is systematically stored in them. They serve as templates for realizing similar projects.

These Best Practices can be the description of a complete process (e.g. the management of a procurement chain) or even a partial process especially worth mentioning ( e.g. the integrated printing of barcode labels at the ramp) which can be well combined with other processes.

The best practices recommended by AXIT are quick and easy to use, are in use by over 200,000 users and they address the typical challenges in operative management of logistical networks with many stakeholders. They reduce complexity in controlling delivery chains. They lead to smooth cooperation between stakeholders and to stable and reliable supply.

  • Cloud Technology as a basis for Best Practice Solutions

    • Cross-company standardization of workflows cannot be achieved if each company only thinks and acts within its own, internal IT and process world. All participants must look beyond the boundaries of their current in house systems. From a mere software point of view the realization of the best practices requires an IT solution which is centrally accessed from multiple locations. I.e. a platform which links the individual system worlds and the acting persons. This way all participants can - independently of locations - enter data or transmit data from their existing systems for further processing.
    • From AXIT's point of view the "Community Cloud" on which the logistics platform AX4 is based would be appropriate. It is centrally available and each participant can get access to the available functionalities via web or interface. In this case "Community" means that the IT platform maps the community of interests of the users which work together on a delivery chain or on a network. Therefore a cloud solution is especially suitable for cross-company IT solutions:

  • Services on the Completion of Best Practices

    In order to optimally use the best practices for the companies AXIT gives support with various services: Workshops help those involved to find the solution most suitable for them. Trainings accompany the roll out of the solution and ensure correct use. After implementation review workshops and consulting help the companies to keep the solution permanently "up to date" and to complete it by reasonable enhancements.
